Departing from Khao Lak we first drive north to Ranong where we will stamp out of Thailand. Thai Immigration kindly do this on board the boat so there is little inconvenience for you. We then cross a wide river mouth and enter Myanmar at Kaw Thuang.
By late afternoon we will be all clear of the immigration formalities and the Reggae Queen will be cruising out to sea. This first day is an excellent way for you to meet your fellow snorkellers and enjoy the excitement of heading to one of South-east Asia’s more remote areas.
On a Myanmar snorkeling safari with Andaman Snorkel Discovery you will cruise the beautiful Mergui Archipelago. Although the area has been open to visitors for the last twenty years or so, it still remains largely undiscovered. You will get the chance to snorkel well away from any crowds, we will be the only boat there. On our boat, the eye catching Reggae Queen, you can sit back and enjoy fantastic fresh Thai food and adventure out on our dinghy to unexplored places and visit pristine, white deserted sandy beaches.
You will get the chance to learn all about the Andaman Sea marine life and meet like-minded adventurers who are also there to relax and enjoy. There are many highlights on our Myanmar snorkeling tour including a visit to the fishing community and Moken on Great Swinton Island, nature watching at Lampi Island, cooling showers in waterfalls, a visit to one of the most beautiful beaches you will ever see at Horseshoe Island and snorkelling in the secret lagoon at the Emerald Heart inside Cock Combes Island.
With our experienced Burmese guide we will visit many of the known snorkel spots dotted around the Mergui Archipelago which boast pristine, abundant and diverse coral reefs. As this is our first season heading to Myanmar we will also have the opportunity to explore and discover new potential snorkel spots.
The best thing about snorkelling in Myanmar is we are very unlikely to encounter other boats at our snorkel locations. When we hit the water we could be the first ever snorkellers to explore that particular spot and we will certainly be alone.
On our Myanmar Snorkelling Tour we will be surrounded by hundreds of uninhabited, beautiful islands. Some are just small rocky pinnacles and not all the islands have beaches. But the islands that do have beaches, well… WOW! There are so many beautiful calm bays and white sandy beaches it’s simply impossible to visit them all. We will of course try 🙂 We will show you the best spots we find along the way.
Not all of the Mergui beaches are deserted though. We will certainly encounter local fishermen and the Moken at some islands. We get the opportunity to go ashore and visit some of these small communities dotted around the archipelago. The people we meet are always friendly and welcoming and at some stops we can set up some tables and enjoy a drink whilst soaking up island life.
If you have already done some research into Andaman Snorkel Discovery, you will probably have come across some of the many rave reviews about the food on board. We do make sure that we feed our guests well and our on board cook is first class. As you can read from the reviews she has received on holidaycheck.de and on our reviews page, you will learn that guests are not disappointed by her cooking.
We always use fresh ingredients sourced from the local market and can cater for vegetarians and those with special dietary requirements.
